The War of 1812 has just begun, and the USS Constitution finds herself being chased by a squadron of five British Warships. An amazing but true story of Yankee ingenuity!
A "Master and Commander" for the ears!

Artistically speaking, this program is one of the best ever created by the folks at the Colonial Radio. I purchased mine at the Old Ironsides museum while visiting Boston. I was assured by the people working the store that the program was an historically correct version of actual events of the Frigate Constitution. If you like classic sailor tales of wooden ships and iron men, then you will love this. Together (this show and their Barbary Pirates program) they make one heck of a great nautical yarn. Kind of like a "Master and Commander" for the ears.
Loved it, just loved it.

This program took me totally by surprise. I have never had much contact with the age of "wooden ships and iron men", but now I can see why so many people enjoy this genre. (I mostly enjoyed pirate stories, and I have never rooted for the good guys)...but this program had me from the get go. The sea battles are really intense, the story was unpredictable (and I hear true to history). Great fun, and great history. Old Ironsides Rocks!
